FAQ - Copyright Questions

What is copyright?

Copyright is unfortunately a very misunderstood aspect of creating art. Copyright belongs to the artist when they create their work regardless of it being a painting, sculpture, photograph or song. The Copyright protection act of 1998 clearly defines the artists rights.

Nevada Art Printers does not sell or market your art however if a prospective buyer wishes to purchase a Giclee or has interest in your art we will give the artist contact info so they can persue a potential sale.

Client reproduction files are stored in a dedicated print server that is totally offline and does not see either our network or the internet. Files are transferred from our Macintosh workstations manually via flash drive. There is no way for hackers to ever gain access to our independent servers so your files are snug and scure.

Is the copyright term extended or changed merely by copying the work to another medium; e.g., from print to CD-ROM?

At Nevada Art Printers, we have a wide selection of substartes based on the intended use of each print. A list of papers and canvases can be found in our Products page.

Can copyright be transferred from the author or owner to another party?
